Photo journal: Coastal stay daydreaming
A dose of inspiration for planning a weekend escape to the Central Coast, from bay to beach, and bush to beachside abode…
Coastal getaways are a perfect remedy to feed the soul. Feel the sand between your toes. Sweet birdsong on a bushwalk. And play audience to a spectacularly soft east coast sunset. It’s just the reminder you need that you’re free to explore again.
The Central Coast recently welcomed Australian TV journalist, Airlie Walsh, to our shores for a slow weekend escape. As a hobbyist photographer following in the talented footsteps of her grandmother, Airlie has bottled that immense sense of calm enjoyed on a simple seaside holiday.

Bay to beach
Explore Bateau Bay, Shelly Beach & Crackneck Point...
“I’ve escaped to the Central Coast this week, my first little jaunt since lockdown ended. Forecast showers making way for pops of sun. It’s only been a day or so and already feeling so refreshed and relaxed.”

Take The Coastal Walk in Wyrrabalong National Park...
"All sorts of heaven being out of the city and road tripping, even just 90 mins away. Those little things taken for granted, and a luxury we are all so fortunate to have again."

Beachside abode
Central Coast stay options are blooming with beachside studios to embrace that laid back lifestyle...
“Returning relaxed after a weekend away at Kyal and Kara’s Bateau Bay beach studio. A couple of slow days spent exploring local coastal walks and quiet swim spots... We really do live in the best country in the world, and I can’t wait to get amongst more of it.”

There's no better place to be than a beachside studio by the sea.

Coastal lifestyle essential: must shower outdoors.
